BTW I never represented myself as being anything other than Who I Am--My Father's Daughter, and He is still of the opinion that This is no way to treat a Friend! (How are my kids doing?--I only get to see the dark aftermath).

The complexity of a knot is measured in a natural way by the lattice invariants. In an intuitive manner, M(K), A(K), N(K) as well as m(k), n(K) and r(k), measure the relative lengths, or areas necessary to realize a given knot. 
These measures are all of a sub-additive nature, and the authors conjecture that the last three are all additive. 
Table I (excerpt below) indicates the relative complexities of knots, as measured by M(K). It is instructive to compare this table with rankings obtained by other measures, such as the Mobius energies of knots (reference). That spectrum generally reflects the ranking in Table I, but since energies are real numbers (Re), the ranking contains no ties.


{In knot theory, the crossing number is the minimal number of crossings of any diagram of the knot. It is a knot invariant.
By way of example, the unknot has crossing number 0, the trefoil knot 3 and the figure-eight knot 4.
There are no other knots with a crossing number this low, and just two knots have crossing number 5, but the number of knots with a particular crossing number increases rapidly as the crossing number increases.

Surah 77 Mursalat (Transmitters, The Winds, Carriers)
انطَلِقُوا إِلَى ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ (77:30
77:30  Experience (split, separate, disassociate) to a Shadow (of) 3-Branches (people, states, listeners, etc.)

Sign 77:30 is Nothing, if not Fascinating. 

Literally, and in context, it directs the reader to experience that very thing they are wont to deny; that being the Resurrection or the capacity for that Final Justice we hear so much about, but seems rarely ever experienced during our stay on Earth. 

And in order to be able to do so, the Person is made to 'split' or 'separate', 'shoot' (as in be discharged rapidly, like firing off a gun, and that's where some classically interpret it as the noun 'fire' or 'flame'), 'divorce'  (oneself of a situation, the antonym for which is 'marriage') in order to experience a  'shadow' or ظِلٍّ , tthil.n of a 3-fold nature, a triad, of sh3b شُعَبٍ.  

The primary meaning of شُعَبٍ  includes 'people,'  'state,' 'folk,' 'rank-and-file (soldiers, workers, columns), 'audience,' 'branch,' 'tree branch'; and the verb form implies 'to pay money,' 'to branch off,' or 'ramify'. 

To ramify means to divide into branches but with the unintended consequence of making a situation more complicated, and making the end result more difficult to achieve (becomes asymptotic).

While I know this isn't about me, I can't help but wonder why this unGodly, reprehensible thing happened to me anyway since I never contested the validity of the Resurrection, or God, or anything that would make me a likely candidate to Experience 77:30 first hand, but I suppose it always goes back to 'them' and so it must be for 'their' benefit.

Surah 16 Bees (An.nahl)
أَوَ لَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى مَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلاَلُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالْشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدًا لِلّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ 16:48
16:48 Or can they not see (are they so unaware) that whatever God Creates of anything its shades (shadows) meet from the Right and the Left (var. the North), prostrating humbly to God (دَاخِرُونَ  var. while they are unassuming, or when they are separated, partitioned, set apart (the 3 states are not united, so that they are not fully aware? See Sign 77:30 above about partitioning shadows/columns).

My only consolation is that similar things have happened to better people. Some of whom may have slipped under the Radar. Like Enoch, for example, while in Genesis we get to learn the names of many progenitors, how long they lived, the children they had and that they 'died', Enoch didn't get to 'die' but got to take a walk with God and became 'Not'. (Like Mariam, Elijah, others throughout time who 'died' without a name, and perhaps even the Queen of Sheba).

Genesis 5:24

And while Enoch went for a 'walk', Elijah got taken for a 'ride.'

In  A Fourier Theory for Cast Shadows, (Ravi Ramamoorthi, Melissa Koudelka, and
Peter Belhumeur, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON PATTERN ANALYSIS AND MACHINE INTELLIGENCE, VOL. 27, NO. 2, FEBRUARY 2005 Feb. 2005), the authors uncover the mathematical convolution structure of cast shadows and analyze them using mathematical convolutions and Fourier basis functions.

Abstract- [paraphrase] Cast shadows are important in computer vision applications, such as lighting-insensitive recognition and surface reconstruction.
Due to nonlocal interactions in non-convex regions, formal analysis is difficult.

Real instances that map closely to canonical configurations like a wall, a V-groove structure, or a pitted surface-- in particular, 3D textures whose surfaces include canonical configurations like V-grooves can serve as a basis to develop formal analysis of cast shadows.
 
Theoretically, many configurations can be mathematically analyzed using convolutions and Fourier basis functions.

The authors’ analysis uncovers the mathematical convolution structure of cast shadows and shows strong connections to recent signal-processing frameworks for reflection and illumination.
Considering lighting variability over nearly flat textured surfaces such as a wall or moss, assuming a fixed Point Of View, the expectation is that variation in illumination (the same purpose the Sun serves as it courses the Sky throughout the day) should correspond to a simple Lambertian cosine-dependent relationship. Cast shadows play a major role, however, that leads to effects that are quantitatively described and mathematically explained here.

Cast shadows have a simple convolution structure amenable to Fourier analysis, meaning a strong link between the mathematical properties of visibility and those of reflection and illumination (but ignoring cast shadows) for which Basri and Jacobs and Ramamoorthi and Hanrahan have recently derived signal-processing frameworks.  
The incident flux of radiant energy per unit area, or irradiance, is a convolution of the lighting and the clamped cosine Lambertian reflection function, an analogous result for cast shadows as convolution of the lighting with a Heaviside step function canalso be realizedwhich also generalize Soler and Sillion’s convolution results for shadows when source, blocker, and receiver are all in parallel planes—for instance, V-grooves that do not contain any parallel planes.  
The paper builds on a rich history of previous work on reflection models, and the properties of 3D textures. While the analytic formulae are derived considering the standard V-grooves used in many of these previous reflection models, it differs in considering cast shadows because of complex illumination, deriving a convolution framework, and analyzing the eigenstructure of visibility, aiming to derive a particular convolution formula for shadows directly, rather than considering a general integral involving the illumination, reflective properties of the surface, and visibility.  
To make the math simple, the authors begin in Flatland, a 2D slice through the viewpoint. A V-groove model, where the visibility is locally monotonically changing, serves as the model to develop the Convolution Formula for Shadows to find the irradiance E(x,β) as a function of groove angle β= [-β1, +β2] and the distance along the groove, x. 
Four Common Shadow Scenarios

Without loss of generality, only the right side of the groove is taken into consideration and the incident cosine term is neglected. {This cosine term may be folded into the illumination function if desired, as the surface normal over a particular face (side) of the V-groove is constant.} 

In a nutshell formalizing the idea of convolution for cast shadows suggests using the frequency space basis but that many more basis functions are required above the order 2 harmonics that are adequate for irradiance. And the results indicate a theoretical link between cast shadows and convolution formulae for their dual--irradiance, and more general non-Lambertian materials.


The authors derived the following orthonormal basis functions as being useful for analyzing cast shadows in 3D textures:

Boundary Conditions (Limits) for Odd Legendre Polynomials are automatically satisfied since they vanish at θ= π/2 or cos θ=0.
 Using only odd terms is similar in some ways to spherical harmonic constructions over the hemisphere.



Since the derived basis functions involve Legendre polynomials over q and Fourier basis functions over φ they are closely related to spherical harmonics but specialized to the hemisphere. Using only odd (sum  odd) Legendre Polynomials inhibits representing non-zero functions at  θ= π/2, but this may partially be corrected by adding a zeroth order basis term or a constant.

Their form is a simple product of 1D functions in q and φ and is simpler than for Zernike polynomials, spherical harmonics, or hemispherical harmonics. And for diffuse textures, due to visibility and shading effects, the intensity goes to 0 for lighting at grazing angles. Simply adding extra basis functions for the even Legendre Polynomials (that go to 0 at θ= π/2) precludes orthonormalization, and leads to slow convergence or inaccuracies, however, numerical methods such as Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization procedure are available to enable this practice.The hemispherical basis functions for cast shadows were constructed in three ways:

  1. adapted from a domain of cylinder topology;
  2. using Zernike polynomials that are adapted from the disk;
  3. and hemispherical harmonics adapted directly from the sphere.
In developing a parametric for cast shadows, the main analytic results made it clear that the Net Visibility of Irradiance is a simple Convolution of the Incident Illumination with the Heaviside Step Function that accounts for cast Shadow effects.(Makes it easy to see Your Mom, which means You don't need to look too hard to find your Dad, since He is usually right behind her or just ahead of her, if He's not raiding her panty-drawer).

This naturally led to deriving a product formula in the Fourier or frequency domain:

Seeing Doubles





The women pictured above are not any direct relation to me, however, their uncanny resemblence to my birth Mother and my Daughter are more than just a passing interest.

I don't even know how I chanced on the image of Nevada Stoody (Duchess of Oporto), I wasn't searching for her, and I remember thinking it odd that in that particular image she looked alot like my mom, although not so much in other pictures of her.

The image of the Paris Woman, by Dennis Hopper, I had come across when looking into the retrospective of his art exhibit soon after he passed away last year, and it floored me how much His muse looks like my daughter, born 5 years prior to the 1994 date of this particular artwork.

On seeing Nevada's image and my mentioning the likeness to my daughter's grandmother, my daughter said, 'Is that why you're so pretty, Mom?'

And it being a mutual admiration society, I countered, 'That's why You're so pretty, daughter; and then look at Dennis Hopper's muse!'

Then she said, 'Yeah, that one is weird, she does look just like me.'

And then she asks how that could even be possible and answers her own question, 'Maybe it's because there is something to us all coming from just the one pair. Or maybe, it's just some kind of weird dream we are all having.'

She goes on to say, 'Whenever I say things like that to Dad, he says, 'There you go, sounding just like your mother!''

And then she says, 'You mean, I sound like a Scientist?'

And then I think-- more like, sober.

To get to the Science behind these Dopplegangers (convincing doubles, anyway), we need to take a closer look.

(رَقِيبًا  raqib, means Observes/Watchful but also implies a 'sergeancy' (serves a protective duty))

Sign 4:1, from Sura 4, The Women, makes mention of our common ancestry from one 'integrated' soul. The theme of having been created out of one 'living entity' is repeated in Signs 7:189 and 6:98; that the 'living entity' is a 'man+woman' is mentioned in 49:13.

And given that ancestry and heredity are closely linked to chromosomes, it would not be a great stretch to take Sign 4:1 as the Choromosome Number 4: Region 1 (either p or q arm; but since the p arm has only 1 region for the human chromosome 4, I would assume this particular sign is pointing something out in that region that has to do with "tasa' luna bihi" which breaks down to something like "T sa' loena bihi wa al.arhham' , 'T's color is worsened by (it) and the wombs/matrices', or 'its color worsens by it and the wombs/matrices' , variably 'T-C (ar. letter seen--as in cytosin) Termination color..."

A geneticist may have some insight into what the God/controller is in this particular region or chromosome 4 that behaves in such a manner, and it also functions as a protection/something that serves to protect or discharges other duties akin to those of a 'sergeant' and further that it serves as a 'marker' ('marker', 'sergeant', 'watches/observes/control/oversee/proctor//blue-pencil (edits)' all derive from رقيبا /رقيبه  raqiba, raqibah,  and the absolute form raqibat means 'stake-holder'; and, the simple root rqb رقب means 'neck').

Sign 39:6 in Chapter 39, Az_Zumar (The Groups), can be treated the same way as 4:1 paying careful attention to the word الْأَنْعَام      al.an3am, that while it does mean cattle and points to '8- couples/pairs/espoused twosome' ثَمَانِيَةَ أَزْوَاجٍ,  something these 'cattle' have in common/differ is also associated with the secondary meaning of al.an3am's of it having to do with several variants:

  • the root n3m نْعَم  v. to refine/improve/enhance/polish/upgrade/perfect/cultivate/hone
  • نعم the same word without the diacritic marks means 'yes', an affirmative/positive/absolute/agreement
  • نعام  or نْعَام  na3am means 'ostrich'; some genetically remarkable characteristics of which include: 
acute eyesite and hearing; the fastest animal on 2 legs (run over 70 kilometres per hour (43 mph) for up to 30 minutes); have just two toes on each foot ( an adaptation that seems to aid in running, most birds have four),  the nail on the larger, inner toe resembles a hoof (found in cattle/horses/ungulates) and the outer toe has no nail; the largest eyes of any land vertebrate and they are shaded from sunlight falling from above; largest egg of any living bird; female ostrich can pick out their own eggs from communal nests. The word 'ostrich' derives from the Latin word for 'camel'.

  • لْأَنْعَام la.an3am with diacritica لانعام  seems to mean 'to fully' and without the diacritic marks لأنعم ' to softer' which would indicate making something most flexible/pliable or have the most plasticity.
  • and finally, the full word الْأَنْعَامِ   al.an3am(i) primarily meaning 'cattle'
Of which  8-pairs have been proferred to Humanity. 8-pairs that are in agreement (like matching autosomes? that are somehow associated with 'cattle'). Makes one wonder what the 8 types of cattle share chromosome-ally speaking? Cattle, or hoofed animals/ungulates is an order of mammals, of which 6 to 8 survive.

Recent sequencing of bovine genome has determined that cows have 22,000 genes, and 80% of bovine genes are shared with humans--ie., that cows are much more similar to humans than rodents. (Do the 8 pairs (matching/affirmatives) mentioned here add up to that 80%?)

The Human DNA is comprised of 46 chromosomes (22 pairs of autosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes, half are contributed by the mother and the complementary half by the father).

If counted individually, and taking the maternal chromosomes first, then autosome #39 is the maternal portion of chromosome 20, which happens to be metacentric, (no luck finding a diagram of chromosome 20, so presumably there is a region 6).

The indication being that these shared 8 pairs have characteristics that enhance/refine the human; makes for plasticity/pliability when 'matrixed' or in the womb (?is it what makes infants 'softer' or more completely 'pliant' that they are able to pass through the birth canal in humans?)

But the really interesting synchronicity is the shared human/bovine DNA and that this post is about body doubles/clones and my having read the sci-fi novel The House of the Scorpion by Francis Farmer a few years ago (a great read) in which clones were propagated using cows. I wonder how much of this information was available to the author at the time of her writing the book and how much of it she had contrived only to see the related Truth of it some time later.

The Arabic word for womb and matrix is the same, and according to the online etymology dictionary the word matrix drives from the following:


late 14c., from O.Fr. matrice, from L. matrix (gen. matricis) "pregnant animal," in L.L. "womb," also "source, origin," from mater (gen. matris) "mother." Sense of "place or medium where something is developed" is first recorded 1550s; sense of "embedding or enclosing mass" first recorded 1640s. The logical sense is the most captivating here in that the reference in Sign 39:6 to 'affirmations'/agreement' or 'yes' for the word an3am is very closely related to 'truth-values' of which there are 2; either 0=False or 1=True, and is would appear that what was selected is the 'matching' or pairs that agreed, 0 for 0, 1 for 1; and, again, of which there are 8 pairs.

Starting with the letter '3ayn' ع:
The letter name for which is derived from Proto-Semitic *ʿayn- "eye", and the Phoenician letter had an eye-shape, ultimately derived from the ı͗r hieroglyph.

To this day, 'ayin in Hebrew, Arabic and Maltese means "eye" (‘ayno in Assyrian).

Taken out of context it is difficult to say exactly what Chief Big Thunder meant by this, but in keeping with the Multiverse theme, he is just as likely to have been alluding to planting bodies as seeds. In the case of bodies, he is telling us that the Earth will return the dead; in the case for seedlings, his message is that the Earth produces what we cultivate and what we consume of it becomes part of us (see, finally a circle, I heard you calling for one and here it is Mr. or Ms. 0.866025404; and have a slice of pi while you're browsing)

The Native American view of returning from the dead as well as the case for Multiple Dimensions is echoed by Chief Seattle.

74 Al Mudatthir (The Enshrouded One)

There are compelling reasons why revelation is often dispensed in multi-faceted sound bites; the savings in paper and ink alone is one simple consideration faced with how much it would take to have to sit down and spell it all out until the recipient reaches their final moment of clarity (and No! Deliberately poisoning someone is still not an option, all you ‘Where Have You Been Lord Randall, My Son?’ fans!)

Lately, I’ve needed to come up with examples, so in order not to tax my simple mind I have picked a readily accessible ‘for instance’ and leave it to you, dear reader, to challenge yourself with finding better ones. The injunction to avoid eating pork is in every Judeo-Christian-Muslim scripture and is not only a matter of taste.

On the surface you might think what follows is a lame attempt to make you part with that ham and cheese sandwich; but that’s just your first impression and you would be well served to keep an open mind. You don’t have to do anything, but ask yourself ‘Is it right to inflict my own poor judgment on my children?’ Can’t we just stop at having already polluted their Earth, Sky and Bodies and launched them into certain astronomical debt for the rest of their existence--without the benefit of even a good education to help them get themselves out of this mess?

Mayhaps the angst that caused all this was what Chief Many Horses (Navajo) foretold;

” … I will prepare the way for my children, and their children. The Great Spirit has shown me - a day will come when they will outrun the ‘white man’ (read, not necessarily some Caucasian-but any Oppressor) in his own shoes."

I think the Chief gave the oppressor too much credit, not realizing the kids needn’t bother to even strap on their shoes since they can do it with only their flip-flops on.

'What do you have against pigs?' you wonder. Well, nothing—Jesus found them very useful. But the fact remains, even today, while reportedly less than 1% of all slaughter pigs are infected with trichinosis parasite, this still carries a significant risk since it represents about 40 million potential meal exposures each year in the United States. (The pork industry need not get all up in arms about this; people still are gonna wanna eat pork and for those who don’t there is always chicken).

And while it may be true that less than 150 human cases of trichinosis are reported annually, less than 1% of the cases are clinically diagnosed. By some estimates 10 to 15 million people in the United States have been infected with trichinosis and about 1.5 million Americans carry the parasite; it is further estimated that there are between 150,000 and 300,000 new infections occurring annually.

Pigs are not native to America, having been brought over by ‘New World’ explorers as early precursors to ‘meals on wheels.’ But that is understandable, since many things were brought over including Africans as slaves to work plantations.

It is widely known that pigs will eat just about anything; I am hard pressed to think of anything they won’t eat. And the first dozen or so pigs that made it to these shores were the progenitors of all the domestic pigs that go to market today.

Until recently what has not been as widely known, (probably due to its having besmirched our Nation’s history), is that African-American slaves brought here to work died by the thousands. There are indications that the “mortality rate of black children on the South Carolina and Georgia coastal rice plantations was astonishingly high – nearly 90% of all children died before they reached the age of 16 years. Even on more interior cotton plantations it is likely that nearly one out of every three slave children died before adulthood. Death was certainly a way of life for African-American slaves and they had ample opportunities to make the trip from slave settlement to cemetery for their friends and family.”

Careful deliberation would make one think that if the above findings are true, slave owners had no time for anything else but to make or purchase coffins to bury their dead slaves, but “Very few planter diaries recount the events surrounding slave burials.”

There is a slave song lyric that goes “Graveyard aught to know me” and the author ventures to guess that it may be an allusion to the many trips slaves took to the graveyard to bury their dead. While admitting this is only a guess on her part, the alternative meaning is all too horrific but must be presented.

Given that slaves were not thought of as even being fit to eat the food given to the pigs, were discouraged any forms of worship, and the high cost of coffins--is the reason for this lyrical lament that the singer knew he was not likely to ultimately get to know the graveyard at all because there was a more sinister yet efficacious way to get rid of his body? Is this where the saying “Feed him to the pigs” comes from?

What are we to conclude now that we know where pigs come from, what historically they have been given to eat, and that you reap what you sow and you are what you eat? How does this speak to the attributes of God that include 'Restraint In Judgment' tempered by 'Mercy' that make the many think He is MIA or something, when a modicum of Reflection tells us He is 'Ever Present'?

Is that you gasping at this simple-minded thoughfulness or your ham and cheese sandwich?

Forms, Shapes, Depictions, And Rides

There are compelling reasons not to be misled into thinking anything or anyone can actually ever usurp any kind of power from God; and why it is imperitive not to have any preconceived images of what God is.


Quran
Al-A'la (The Maximal (Uppermost))

(87:1) سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
(87:2) الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى

(87:1) Glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme (Maximal; Uppermost)
(87:2) who creates, and ‘sawa’ (delineates, makes, forms, describes, shapes, levels, squares, planes out, organizes, categorizes, arranges, ranks…)

Al 'Imran (Jesus' Family--The House of 'Imran)
(3:6) هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِي الأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَاء لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

(3:6) He depicts you in the wombs (places of Mercy/Matrices) as He wills. There is no deity but Him, the Almighty, the Truly Wise.

( يُصَوِّرُكُمْ means to picture or imagine; no doubt where the phrase 'in his own image' comes from misdirecting us into thinking somehow God looks like a person and acts like one, but the true value of this phrase is that we are what God imagines us to 'Be'--if there is a 'person' out there that can do that-- create something from nothing but their imagination--I would most certaintly love to meet them--otherwise, let's come to terms with our own humanity and be grateful we think we are here).

As-Sajdah (The Prostration)

(32:9) ثُمَّ سَوَّاهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

(32:9) and then He delineates (‘sawa = lit. levels; makes, forms, describes, shapes, squares, planes out, organizes, categorizes, arranges, ranks…) him, and breathes into him of His spirit: and He endows you with hearing, and sight, and hearts (sensitivity; feelings; minds); seldom are you grateful.

(Parenthetically, if the abortion issue means anything to you, you may want to study the above passage to try and settle when a zygote is just a clump of cells and when does it become a living viable human fetus)

Al-Hashr (The Gathering)

(59:24) هُوَ اللَّهُ الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاء الْحُسْنَى يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

(59:24) He is God, the Creator, the Maker, the Depicter! His are the attributes (names) of perfection. All that is in the Heavens and Earth worship Him: for He is the Almighty, the Truly Wise!

Nahl (Bees)

(16:8) وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

(16:8) And (He creates) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and for their beauty; and He creates things that as yet you have no knowledge. (Some of which you now call UFOs—any guesses as to who the riders are?)
Now to proffer a few words of comfort to those among us who have actually been instructed to shoot them down and are now having an ‘aha! moment’; no worries really, among the riders could be your mothers and by far they make for safe targets because they don’t generally shoot back and what child doesn’t secretly harbor the fantasy of shooting their mom? In fact, the need to shoot one’s Mom must be quite pervasive as it provides comic fodder for prime time TV; Family Guy chronicles baby Stewie’s fantasy to do in his mom Lois at least every other episode.

While someOne goes to great lengths to ensure you have mothers, we all know they are the last people their children ever listen to; and that's why I questioned why I should bother at all (Michael) because a couple of years of diaper duty would have been absolution enough for me.

Al A'raf (The Heights)

(7:198) وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْهُدَى لاَ يَسْمَعُواْ وَتَرَاهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ

(7:198) and if you call them to guidance, they do not hear; and you may think they see you (pay attention to you) but they do not."

This last Sign is a tad troublesome since this particular convergence has been a difficult one. Understanding that the Ayat (Signs) can be understood on a multitude of levels, I think a practical explanation is called for at this time. First, like the others, Ayah (7:198) can be taken at face value and it might even seem a bit mundane; but please be cautioned that there is a deeper meaning.
The other day I was standing at the market service counter when a young couple came up to place their order. The young man stood close to the case so he could place his order and his companion took a couple of steps back in order to have a more panoramic view of what was on display in the deli case. A server called the next number and a patron whose number was called came over to the very spot that was right in front of the young man's companion; not only blocking her view and inserting herself between the couple, but seemed completely oblivious to the young woman now only about an inch behind her.

The young woman was so incensed at this patron's rudeness that she blurted out her frustration at being so completely insulted by what appeared to be such a total disregard for her 'space' and took a few steps away from the offender and around to my side; still muttering to herself how she can't understand how anyone can be so rude! The patron was in a state of absolute shock that this young lady was carrying on like that and the confusion registered in her eyes and the questioning look she shot at me, who happened to be observing this scene unfold.

I could tell it was not in the offended party's character that she was given to such a tirade, and it was painfully obvious to me that the patron clearly did not even see this young lady (tall as she was with very long, thick black hair--you would think no one could miss her) simply standing there when she cut in front of her. Despite my strong predilection to keep to myself I had to say something to explain to both of them what had just happened and I kept it in simple terms.

Patron: "What just happened?"
Me (as gently as possible): "She is upset that you just cut in front of her. She was standing right there."
Young Woman (still in a huff, embarrassed this is out of character for her): "How can anyone be so rude!"
Patron (still stunned, because she absolutely did not see her, but sincere): "I am sorry, I didn't see you standing there. I didn't mean to be rude."

The young lady collected herself and went back to the other side where her mate was standing, and the thoroughly bewildered patron moved away from them, having woken up to the fact that just moments before she was completely oblivious to someone whose physical stature actually dwarfed everyone else's in the vicinity.
