But my Mother is Flat Out Scary!

Enough Stuff About the Wife (I really tried not to take it personally for over 17 years, but since they started using my name I find that they really may not know what they are doing after all--I thought it was just a hazing process).

{Addendum: September 9, 2013 20:13; You know, 'Dex', you may think it's been about a year since you last saw me, but I assure you that it has been only about 6 months since I saw you last in the vicinity of Union Station, downtown LA. And while you may think me an old lady, I assure you my age is appropriate to that of what I know to be my children who are now in their 20's--besides, I wasn't under the impression that I am trying to impress you--Steve0 is very outspoken when it comes to such matters...And while it is only my age that you find remarkable, I seem to recall your eyes were a clearer, larger, blue than the grey-blue ones you had when I saw you on the bus this evening.}

I cannot knowingly violate any of the following tenets although I can unequivocally say my erstwhile and challenger 'husbands' are in rank violation of all of the following:

Quran Chapter and Verse

Surah 2 Al-Baqara (The Cow)

وَلاَ تَنكِحُواْ الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ
وَلأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ
وَلاَ تُنكِحُواْ الْمُشِرِكِينَ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنُواْ
 وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ
أُوْلَـئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ
 وَاللّهُ يَدْعُوَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ
وَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ (2:221
2:221 And do not marry idolatresses until they believe;
For, a believing bond woman is better than an idolatress though she please you;
and do not marry idolaters until they believe;
for a believing bond man is better than an idolater though he please you.
These beckon you to the fire (Hell),
and God Calls you to the Garden (Eden) and Forgiveness by His Grace.
And He expounds His Revelations to mankind (nas) so that they may reflect (on them, consider them).


وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النَّسَاء فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ
 أَوْ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ
وَلاَ تُمْسِكُوهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لَّتَعْتَدُواْ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُ 
وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُوَاْ آيَاتِ اللّهِ هُزُوًا وَاذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ
 وَمَا أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ يَعِظُكُم بِهِ
وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ
 وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ (2:231
2:231 And when you divorce women, and they reach the end of the ordained waiting period, retain them in a fair manner or release them in a fair manner.
But DO NOT keep them against their will only to hurt them, for whoever does this indeed sins against their own self (SteveH., a playback of what the in-house close-circuit camera captured of  my ER visit to Cedar Sinai on or about April 19-20, 2013, and keep quiet please, once and for all.)
And do not take God's Signs in jest and remember God's Grace over you,
And whatever is Revealed to you of the Book (Scripture), and the discernment (wisdom, good judgment) He admonishes you within it.
And remain conscious of God,
and know that God is truly Aware of Everything (Omniscient).

وَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا عَرَّضْتُم بِهِ مِنْ خِطْبَةِ النِّسَاء
أَوْ أَكْنَنتُمْ فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ
عَلِمَ اللّهُ أَنَّكُمْ سَتَذْكُرُونَهُنَّ
وَلَـكِن
لاَّ تُوَاعِدُوهُنَّ سِرًّا إِلاَّ أَن تَقُولُواْ قَوْلاً مَّعْرُوفًا
 وَلاَ تَعْزِمُواْ عُقْدَةَ النِّكَاحِ حَتَّىَ يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ
وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ
 فَاحْذَرُوهُ وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ (2:235
2:235 And you incur no blame if you openly make a marriage proposal to [any of] these women, or if you keep such intentions to yourself.
God knows that you intend to marry them.
But,
Do not plight your troth with them in secret, except to speak to them in a decent (known, polite) manner. 
(What about Your clandestine conversation with Me at RFD on June 23, 2013 was decent, or polite?--Inflammatory and vulgar was more like it and that's why the tacit retort in-kind, and I was surprised your companion actually apprised You I thought as much--I'm entitled to keep my own private counsel).
And do not proceed with tying the marriage-knot before the proscribed period has come to its end. (Typically on the order of 4 months unless the woman is pregnant--not decades!)
And know that God Knows what is in your inner-selves (souls).
Therefore, remain conscious of Him and know, too, that God is Forgiving, Forbearing.

وَإِن طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ
وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُمْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً فَنِصْفُ مَا فَرَضْتُمْ
إَلاَّ أَن يَعْفُونَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ
وَأَن تَعْفُواْ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى وَلاَ تَنسَوُاْ الْفَضْلَ بَيْنَكُمْ
 إِنَّ اللّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ (2:237
2:237 And should you divorce them before you touch them (consummate the marriage),
and you have given them their dowries, then half of what you pledge (belongs to them),
unless they (the women) agree to forego it, or he who holds the marriage tie agrees to forgo his half.
To forgo it draws you closer to piety (taqwa), and do not be remiss in the promises you make amongst yourselves.
Indeed, God Is Witness over whatever you do.

Surah 4 An-Nisa (The Women)

وَآتُواْ النَّسَاء صَدُقَاتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةً
فَإِن طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَن شَيْءٍ مِّنْهُ نَفْسًا
 فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَّرِيئًا (4:4
4:4 And give the women (you marry) their marriage portion in the spirit of a free gift,
and should they gift you a portion of it of their own will, (i.e., do not coerce or defraud them of it)
absorb it as your own wealth and enjoy it.

وَابْتَلُواْ الْيَتَامَى حَتَّىَ إِذَا بَلَغُواْ النِّكَاحَ
فَإِنْ آنَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا
 فَادْفَعُواْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَلاَ تَأْكُلُوهَا إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُواْ
 وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ
 وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
 فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُواْ عَلَيْهِمْ
وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ حَسِيبًا (4:6
4:6 And challenge (test to prove) orphans until they reach marriageable age;
should you find them to be of sound judgment,
then pay them their inheritance and do not consume their wealth wastefully and in haste before they grow up. (This is rather self-serving, but I am leveling this blame squarely on my children's father.)
If (the guardian) is rich, abstain generously (from using the orphans' due),
and if (the guardian) is needy, spend conscientiously.
And when you deliver their inheritance (wealth, money) to them, have a witness present.
And it suffices that God Takes Account (Reckons, Reconciles).

and the mothers of your wives (mothers-in-law), and daughters under your protection born of women whom you have conjugal ties,
but if you have no conjugal relations (with their mothers), there is no sin (in marrying their daughters). and (also forbidden are) the wives of your biological sons and to join between sisters (together), except for what's been in the past.
Indeed, God Is Forgiving, Merciful.
(See, the problem I am having with SteveH? I know He is married (and not to me, but it may be to my late great sister), and I am no home wrecker. But if I am still mistaken about that, I would have to be an alien to not fall under any of these prohibitions--which brings up the whole interspecies thing in which case I am no Captain Kirk, either).


 Surah 5 Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread)

الْيَوْمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ
وَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ
حِلٌّ لَّكُمْ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلُّ لَّهُمْ
وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ
إِذَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحِينَ
وَلاَ مُتَّخِذِي أَخْدَانٍ
 وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِالإِيمَانِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ

5:5 Today lawful to you are all the good things.
And the food of those given Scripture (before you)

And so are the virtuous women of the believers and the virtuous women of those who received the Scripture before you (lawful for you),
once you give them their marriage portions and live with them honorably, and not in fornication.

And whoever belies the faith, his works are in vain,
and he (she/they) will be among the losers in the Hereafter.

 Surah 24 Al-Nour (The Light)
وَلْيَسْتَعْفِفِ الَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ نِكَاحًا حَتَّى يُغْنِيَهُمْ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ
 وَالَّذِينَ يَبْتَغُونَ الْكِتَابَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ فَكَاتِبُوهُمْ إِنْ عَلِمْتُمْ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا
 وَآتُوهُم مِّن مَّالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ
وَلَا تُكْرِهُوا فَتَيَاتِكُمْ عَلَى الْبِغَاء
 إِنْ أَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِّتَبْتَغُوا عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَن يُكْرِههُّنَّ
فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مِن بَعْدِ إِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ (24:33
24:33 And those not having the means to marry shall keep chaste until God grants them means out of His bounty.
And if any of those whom you rightfully possess desire a deed (of freedom), write it out for them if you are aware of any goodness in them. (Uh-oh, is someone's virtue being called into question?)
And give them [their share] of God's wealth that He has given you.
And do not, in order to gain some of the fleeting pleasures of this worldly life, coerce your maidens into whoredom when they prefer chastity.
And if anyone should coerce them, then, verily, after they have been compelled,
God will Forgive them and Be Merciful to them.

وَالْقَوَاعِدُ مِنَ النِّسَاء اللَّاتِي لَا يَرْجُونَ نِكَاحًا
 فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَن يَضَعْنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيْرَ مُتَبَرِّجَاتٍ بِزِينَةٍ
وَأَن يَسْتَعْفِفْنَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُنَّ
 وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ (24:60
24:60 And those women advanced in years (past childbearing) that have no request (hope) for marriage, are blameless should they shed their outer garments without showcasing their adornments (beauty). (According to a recent encounter with one of my brothers who said, "OMG, You're really old!"--that's that about the marriage prospects, and hopefully puts an end to the 'dead-ended wife' routine that leaves me without so much as a dinner companion).
If they refrain (from doing so) it is better for them,
For God is All-Hearing, Omniscient.

 Surah 25 Al-Furqan (The Criterion)
وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ مِنَ الْمَاء بَشَرًا
 فَجَعَلَهُ نَسَبًا وَصِهْرًا
 وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًا (25:54
25:54 And He it is Who Created man from water (ma'),
and made for him lineage by blood and lineage by marriage; (And both my erstwhile and SteveH 'husbands' managed to break both my ties of kith and kin for me--in fact, SteveH brags about it. 'I divorced her!' He said. and rattles off a litany of other things He did to 'pss Her of', including availing himself of her personal possessions like her iphone.  So why the 'wife.ly' pursuit thereafter? Usually, it's a mutual parting of the ways. And given how you are so proud of Your efforts to sour me on the whole marriage concept, why spoil the desired outcome? I never went back once I got my walking papers, despite those in your camp saying, "Most people would just return home."--Like, duh! You all think I didn't hear you planning to get me thrown out of my house? I just know not to engage in a losing battle with unknown entities of questionable motives),
for your Lord is Almighty (Omnipotent).

 Surah 33 Al-Ahzab (The Confederates)
وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِي أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ وَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَاهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى زَيْدٌ مِّنْهَا وَطَرًا زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌ فِي أَزْوَاجِ أَدْعِيَائِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًا وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ مَفْعُولًا (33:37)
33:37...cannot read this without all the blood draining from me, due to my understanding of the phrase 'wife of Your adopted Son'--I confirm I heard as much as far back as April/May/June 1992. See? You had Your chance to tell me, but despite sage advice coming from all quarters that You "have to just tell Her!' You elected not to give me a modicum of consideration, and the reason why the curtain on this Fellini opera has to draw to a certain, sure, unequivocal close!

33:50 (This just establishes that only the Prophet's (pbuh) wives are His wives, and not me or anyone else. I listened carefully after that last comment on Sign 33:37 posted, and for the first time in a long time, after hearing my name, I heard a Silence. 
Clearly, to say that my inexplicable behavior is because I am 'sleep deprived' or 'hurt' is an obfuscation on Your part, don't You think?)

{BTW, now that my brothers are in on it, the more I hear, "Your wife is beautiful," the more frequently my brothers interject with, "Steve is a Monster!"   Almost makes me wanna stick around and see that movie after all.}

And in the final analysis, why this whole husband/wife thing is a moot point between Us.

Surah 60 Al.Mumtahina (The Examined/Tested/Tried Woman)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
إِذَا جَاءكُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ مُهَاجِرَاتٍ فَامْتَحِنُوهُنَّ
اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَانِهِنَّ
 فَإِنْ عَلِمْتُمُوهُنَّ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ فَلَا تَرْجِعُوهُنَّ إِلَى الْكُفَّارِ
لَا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحِلُّونَ لَهُنَّ
 وَآتُوهُم مَّا أَنفَقُوا
وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ إِذَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ
 وَلَا تُمْسِكُوا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ

Should believing women migrate (come) to you, examine them (try them/test their faith),
God Knows of their Fidelity (Faithfulness, Belief).
And if you know them to be Believers, Do Not return them to the infidels (unfaithful).
They (these women) are prohibited (not marriageable) to them and they (the nonbelievers) are prohibited (not marriageable) to them (these believing women).
And give them (pay them) whatever they had to pay (earned) {yup, don't just pop in and out bragging about how you got me working 24/7 for nothing and then say how you all feel so sorry about it!}
And it is not a sin for you to marry them once you've compensated them 
And do not cling in defense of the nonbelievers (unfaithful).
And ask them for whatever you have spent, just as they can ask for whatever they spent.
This is God's Ordinance. He Judges Amongst You, and God Is All-Knowing, Wise.

The compensation in this case is not a dowry, but payment for services rendered and that's why I put up with the snide remarks about  my 'working girl' status.

Surah 15 Hijr (Rocky Tracts, aka Rocky Road)
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاء بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ (15:16

The fact is, SteveH, this is a job like any other, and now that I'm caught up in it, I don't want to be enmeshed with a bunch of slavers. The job description is 'path finder' (ie., scout, trail blazer--You know exactly what that means--I've even started logging license plates) at this level and why the expectation is payment for services rendered--without having to hear your wives' instructions as how I should go about giving you 'lip service'--which in fact falls within your own wives' job description, so kindly have them not get the office help involved in such personal matters.

Surah 48 Al.Fathh
إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِينًا (48:1

48:1 Indeed We Have Opened/Unlocked/Unsealed for you an obvious/evident opening/conquest/occupation/unoccupied land.

Surah 110 An.Nasr

إِذَا جَاء نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ (110:1 

110:1 If/should/As long as God's Succor and Victory/Solution/Easement==pathway comes to you,

وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا (110:2

110:2 And you see/observe the people (Nas/communities) entering into God's Religion/Judgment/Decree en masse (in crowds, throngs, troops, battalions...)

{It becomes very tricky to not take it personally and get all paranoid at the onset...what with all these followers in hot pursuit--obviously it's not because they want a date!}

You all but ruined my down time at the gym with the non-stop chatter and unsolicited inane opinions and comments you all freely make in yoga class and in the ladies' locker room.

And You, and this is personal, You know who you are, the very vocal one with the 'you are my wife' single-sound-byte mantra, cramped my social life to such an effect that I can't even get a dinner date around here.

You Are Here...There...Everywhere

To determine Latitude, imagine a Little Earth, and 3 Little Points. {This should sound familiar to You, since You dreamt it when You were 8}.

Take one point P1 and put it at the North Pole, and the second point P2 and put it at the Center of the Little Earth, and use the third point P3 to Mark where you are on the Little Earth.

Now draw a line from the North Pole straight through the point at the Center, to the other end of the Little Earth. This First line, Line 1, forms the Little Earth's axis of Rotation.

Then draw a line from the Point where You are standing through the point at the Center of the Little Earth, Line 2,  to form an angle, α , with the Little Earth's axis of rotation, that first line You drew.

The two lines act like a Protractor and that angle α is a generic way to determine Your Latitude.

Which is a great way of thinking of where You are, but will not help Us find each other.

For that We have to imagine a Big Earth (Way Way Bigger than Our Little Earth). Something on the Cosmic scale, that would be the Celestial Sphere, the map of Stars that circles the globe.

Imagine the Big Earth around the Little Earth, the globe that is now the Core (where You are standing & spinning) of the Celestial Sphere.

This will help to determine Longitude, sinceYou are not a Flatlander and need at least these 2 coordinates to determine where You are exactly in 3D.

Remember, since the Earth Rotates 360 degrees in 24 hours, the Stars over Your head are going to move about 15 degrees every hour, so that someOne standing West of You will See the Same Sky an hour later. Which has direct associations to the Fano Plane (diagram below. see also 'kissing circles' and Appolonian Network):

If You are at the Equator (to help me do the math) that translates to distance of about 1000 miles in that much time.

So, You look up at the Sky over where You are standing, and pick a star--any star, that You may be familiar with and note the local time it rises above the horizon, its Right Ascension (RA).  The reference, or baseline is the star γ Aries at 0 hours RA, the First Star in Aries where it crosses the Celestial Equator on the First Day of Spring.

Since there are Apps for this, just point Your PDA at Triangulum Australis, I think He Said 'The Second Star on the Left' and make a note of its RA in Hours-Minutes-Seconds (this presumes that You may be somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere of the Little Earth). {But if I got that wrong, since I heard this while under duress, and wish I had written it down to be sure so many years ago, make a note of the Second Star on the Right RA , too.}

In non-Euclidian geometry parallel lines meet (intersect) at a point (just like when drawing a perspective of train tracks on paper, they seem to meet at the 'vanishing point'), and that is why the Fano plane is a good 2D small-scale model of the larger 3D Celestial Sphere with the Little Earth at its Core (Your 'Big Earth/Little Earth' dream).

In fact, the Fano plane is the smallest projective plane and probably why the Pyramids were built and are still standing. And it is no mere chance that the projective plane is sometimes called a 'twisted sphere'--'a surface without boundary derived from a usual plane by addition of a line at infinity. 

'Just as a straight line in projective geometry contains a single point at infinity at which the endpoints meet, a plane in projective geometry contains a single line at infinity at which the edges of the plane meet.

The 3 points at each vertex of the triangle defining the Fano plane, represent these vanishing points (You took technical drawing classes so You get this).  They serve to define 'Outside' because, as You know, there is no way to define the 'Inside' without SomeThing or SomeOne being on the 'Outside'. {kind of like there is no way to know Up from Down in outer space; now, You know why You were so facinated by your belly button when You were 2 years old}.

But since we are still biding our Time in the 'Real' world, having missed our ride out of here so many years ago, I suspect we are to put this to more pragmatic, concrete use than just appreciating its abstract beauty---I mean, really, what do mathematicians know? --they, too, are still stuck on the ground.

A long time ago, Ptolomy published Geographia, and used a similar method, like stereographic projection, to represent the Earth as a Flat Surface, and he used Latitude and Longitude coordinates to locate about 8000 places he knew of at the time and gave instructions for map making (cartography).

It served as as standard reference for 100 years, but made no progress under Roman rule. When a Christian mob sacked the library at Alexandria, Geographia disappeared along with other math and Greek works (never mind how they disposed of the Greek worker Hypatia).

With the fall of the Roman Empire, "the new age found a civilization as much in the dark about describing their place in space as was about the theorems and relations among spatial objects."--That's why We take care of books...

Anyhow, using 'irrational' numbers was also lost and this 'bad math' did not resurface until Cantor and Dedekind rediscovered it in the late 19th century (that's probably the punishment they deserved for what they did to Hypatia).

From the Middle Ages until that time scientists and mathematicians had been using them "happily, if awkwardly, anyway for the simple reward of getting the right answer outweighing having to wield unpleasant numbers 'that did not exist'."

This 'illegal' math is quite common today and we take it for granted. 

There was also Dirac's delta function which posed a quandary for mathematicians; one that is simply =0 everywhere except at 1 point, where the value is infinity, but when applied in calculus or certain math operations typically gives us finite non-zero answers. Then the mathematician Laurent Schwartz (one more thing we can thank the French for) came along and showed that 'the rules of math can be redefined to allow using the delta function, opening up a whole new discipline of math and later buttressing 'illegal' physics concepts like quantum field theories, as well.  

As of 2001, no one had yet successfully shown that, 'mathematically speaking, such theories legally exist.'

Which is just as well, since from God's Point of View (wayy out there on the Outside, at Infinity), Nothing Really Happens; according to Mom and Psalm 93:1 "...for God hath established the world, which shall not be moved." What most people don't realize, is the tacit caveat, 'unless God moves it'. 

An antipode to the stance taken by the general population, and teenagers (who think they know everything) without stopping to consider that even the greatest minds throughout history had reason to know better.

And for practical purposes, geometry found more inroads as people tried to describe in comprehensive terms what they saw in the world around them. One instance being that of motion in different frames of reference, like a deck hand on a boat who slides his hand down a mast appears to the seaman as though his hand is moving in a vertical direction (perpendicular to the deck), but to someone watching from the shore the deck hand's motion is running on a diagonal while the boat traverses the water.

The story continues, that Decartes translated space into numbers (quantitatively, not simply by construction), or phrased geometry in terms of algebra. Decartes distance formula being deeply tied to Euclidean Geometry and key to understanding both Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries; serving as the basis for much of his contribution to physics.

Yet, Rene delayed publishing for 19 years--in fact, "...he delayed publishing anything until he was 40. What was he afraid of? The usual suspect. The Catholic Church."

Then came Gauss, who contributed to the development of non-Euclidean hyperbolic space.

"Through the centuries, mathematicians who attempted to prove the parallel postulate (Euclid's 'parallel lines never meet') as a theorem came close to discovering a strange and exciting new kind of space, but each of them was hampered by a simple belief: that the postulate was a true and necessary property of space."

...everyone but Gauss, who basically acceded to his own observation that a line is a curve of some sort, rather than clinging to Euclid's postulate, which in turn led to the rediscovery of curved spaces. A property that Gauss had to propose when applying the basic tenet that "superposition is a way to check for congruence or equivalence of geometric shapes."

There are other examples of non-Euclidean geometries.

In turn, Poincare developed his model of hyperbolic space, which was not just the 'model', but hyperbolic space in 2D, concluding that all possible mathematical descriptions of hyperbolic planes are isomorphic, in other words, 'the same.'

Poincare's lines are analogous to great circles, a rediscovery of what the Ancients knew about geodesics. The Equator being a curve of constant latitude.

"The view from outer space is not the view of the indigenous people of Noneuclid (a fictional professor sending her students out to measure distance across the globe). To her, there is no 'center of the earth', and as Gauss showed possible, there is no 'outer space.'...the space...is non-Euclidean, not hyperbolic space, but the space appropriate to the surface of the globe: elliptical space."

Meaning, the great circles intersect, and the sum of the angles of the triangle on such a surface is greater than 180 degrees, (as compared to that for hyperbolic space being less than 180 degrees, and for Euclid in a plane it is equal to 180). The Geo-metrics that define what we think of  as 'hyperspace', 'subspace', and 'flat earth'.

And these concepts laid the foundation for Riemann's differential geometry in 1915, in the vernacular having to define 'place vs. space', where place is 'part of a space' occupied by a specific object:

"The question of the valididty of geometry...is related to the question of the internal basis of metric [distance] relationships of the space...we must seek the ground of its metric relations outside it, in the binding forces which act on it..."--Georg Friedrich Bernhardt Riemann

And then breakthroughs by Klein, Piola, and Hilbert following soon after, applying tensor mathematics and algebraic curves.

Godel's theorem proved that in a system of sufficient complexity, such as the theory of numbers, there must exist a statement that cannot be proved either true of false.

A corollary of which: 

There must exist a true statement that cannot be proved. 

Example: There Is A God.

And all this ground-breaking, thought-provoking, formulations, rediscoveries and challenges swung like a pendulum back to the Flat Earth, again, considering what Clifford had proposed in 1870:

And while Clifford professed his position based on instinct alone, he got it right! Which in turn inspired Einstien's space-time and warpage ideology encapsulated in his Relativity theories.

A throw –  in German ‘wurf’, refers to a series of four points on a line which trace the 1-Dimensional motion of a point on a projective line, the W-curve.

The etymology for the ‘W-curve’derives from the German "Weg-Kurve" meaning "pathcurve", which include conics, logarithmic spirals, exponentials (i.e., y = x³ ), logarithms and the helix, but not sinusoidal functions.  

The term Throw (Wurf) was first introduced to avoid the metrical implication of a ratio. The Algebra of Throws provides an approach to numerical propositions, usually taken as axioms, but proven in projective geometry.

In the diagram ..., it turns out that the cross-ratio of a series of 4 points, taken in afixed order, does not depend on the choice of a line L, and is said to be invariant of the 4-tuple of lines {L_i}.This can be understood as follows: if L and L′are two lines not passing through Q then the perspective transformationfrom L to L′with the center Q is a projective transformation thattakes the quadruple {Pi} of points on L into the quadruple {Pi′}of points on L′. Therefore, the invariance of the cross-ratio under projective automorphisms of the line implies (in fact, is equivalent to) the independence of the cross-ratio of the four collinear points {P_i} on the lines {L_i} from the choice of the line that contains them. 

For points on a projective line (like the W-curve), the cross-ratio, (aka, double ratio and anharmonic ratio), is a special number associated with such a series of an ordered quadruple of collinear points.

If the four points are represented in homogeneous coordinates by vectors (ie., objects that transform like first-rank tensors) a,b,c,d such that c=a+b and d=ka+b, then their cross-ratio is k.

Dual concepts exist for a quadrupleof concurrent lines on the projective plane and a quadruple of points on the Riemann sphere.

The cross-ratio is essentially the only projective invariant of a quadruple of points, it being preserved by fractional linear transformations, which underlies its importance for projective geometry. If four points lie on a straight line L in R² then their cross-ratio is a well-defined quantity, because any choice of the origin andeven of the scale on the line will yield the same value of the cross-ratio.

In the Cayley–Klein model of hyperbolic geometry, the distance between points is expressed in terms of a certain cross-ratio.

Since the cross-ratio is invariant under projective transformations, it follows that the hyperbolic distance is invariant under the projective transformations that preserve the conic C. Conversely, the group G acts transitively on the set of pairs of points (p,q) in the unit disk at a fixed hyperbolic distance.

In the language of group theory, the symmetric group S₄ acts on the cross-ratio by permuting coordinates. The kernel of this action is isomorphic to the Klein four-group K. There are a number of definitions of the cross-ratio. However, they all differ from each other by a suitable permutation of the coordinates. In general, there are six possible different values the cross-ratio ( z₁ , z₂:  z₃ , z₄) can take depending on the order in which the points z_i are given.

Since there are 24 possiblepermutations of the four coordinates, some permutations must leave the cross-ratio unaltered. In fact, exchanging any 2 pairs of coordinates preserves the cross-ratio:

For certain values of  λ there are fewer than 6 possible values of the 6 possible values of cross-ratio due to  enhanced symmetry.
